Description
The Sure Hand Bendable Utensils are designed with large, soft, and comfortable handles to assist individuals with grasping difficulties to make mealtimes more enjoyable when self-feeding.
The utensils have a non-slip, textured, soft, ergonomically large rubber/plastic constructed handles with an extra-wide lip on the end. The 1 1/2-inch diameter textured surface is very beneficial for people with a neurological impairment that may affect their handgrip, as well as those with arthritis, and individuals with a weakened grip due to post-surgery recovery. The wide lip on the end of the 4 1/2-inch handle helps to stabilize the grip and stop the user’s hand from slipping forward onto the utensil shaft.
The utensils have a stainless-steel shaft with a twist in the middle that allows the utensil to be safely bent to the right or left at any angle. This enables the utensil to become a customized eating utensil for the user, making the eating experience easier, more enjoyable, and independent.
The assisted living flatware is institutional-dishwasher-safe to 180-degrees Fahrenheit, making the fork, spork, tablespoon, teaspoon, and soup spoon ideal for elderly care homes, adult care facilities, hospitals, and home use. Also available is a teaspoon with a plastisol covering to help with utensil temperature control for individuals with sensitive lips, tongue, or mouth.
